Isagi in Project Egoist

The free kit that still teaches the whole sport.

Isagi Style

Isagi is the Style you already own. Rare, 65% if you somehow roll him again, and treated like furniture by people who have not learned Off-Ball Movement. He is the beginner recommendation because he is honest: two shots, one dash, a Flow that can take the ball, no trailer armor.

Kit

Back Heel Shot (Z). Turn and hit. Good after a carry, bad as a midfield prayer.

Off-Ball Movement (X). A dash. Public videos use it with and without the ball. This is the skill that makes him more than a tutorial dummy. Arrive late. Arrive on the blind side. The anime reference is the point.

Direct Shot (C). Flat, fast, blockable if you are polite. Use it when the keeper already moved. How to score applies harder to Isagi than to Kaiser because you do not have a Magnus to hide behind.

Flow (V). Blind Spot Direct in several guides, with steal variants if the enemy is carrying. That steal is why A-tier lists keep him around. One V per Flow bar. Do not awaken to emote.

How he plays

You are allowed to not have the ball. That is the whole personality. Let a greedy Kaiser over-dribble, then Off-Ball into the space, then Direct. When you do have the ball, Q is still your i-frame. Isagi does not get a secret Super Dash.

NEL Isagi appeared as a quest and a code name (NELISAGI, expired). Do not confuse a mission skin or a later variant with the default Rare unless the lobby clearly equips a different card. If a short teaches a NEL quest, treat it as optional content, not as a rewrite of this page.

Rank

A or B depending on whether the writer values flexibility or shot speed. The styles list keeps him in A. People who only measure Impact speed put him in B. Both groups still lose to an Isagi who times Flow.

How to get him

You have him. Extra copies do nothing useful. Spend Yen on someone else after getting started is done. Codes are for the next kit, not for a second Isagi.

If you hate him, you probably hate your binds. Fix controls before you blame the Rare.

The quiet flex is winning a lobby that assumed you were a tourist because the card says Rare. Off-Ball late, Direct after the keeper steps, Flow when they carry. That sequence is still the best argument against reroll culture, and it costs zero Yen.

If you are bored of him, change your binds or your role, not your account. Play a night as the late runner only. Count how many times you touched the ball without needing a Legendary cinematic. That count is why this page exists.

Keep him equipped for at least one full evening after you roll a Legendary. The contrast teaches you what the new kit actually added. If you cannot name the difference, you did not learn either card.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Isagi good in Project Egoist?

Yes for learning and still yes in A-tier lists. He is not Kaiser. He does not need to be.

What makes Isagi Flow special?

Some variants steal as they shoot. That is a defensive plus other Rares do not advertise.

Should I keep using Isagi after I roll Kaiser?

Play Kaiser, but keep Isagi for modes or moods where you want off-ball work.

What is NEL Isagi?

A later quest and code name. Do not assume it replaced the default Rare unless your inventory shows a separate Style.

Does Isagi work on console?

Yes. Off-Ball is a dash on every platform. The kit does not care about your keyboard.
